Happy HallowThanksMas - Week Four

Pam here for Lynell while she's off gallivanting around the States with her our Stentangle Guru (and her hubby), Wayne. If you've been in the state of Washington this past week, you may have had the opportunity to have taken classes with both of them at "Art 'n Soul".

I'm posting a card using the Great Pumpkin stencil design, which I simply machine-embossed on black cardstock, and swiped with white pigment ink. However, as with any of the "open" design stencils that we carry, there are an amazing variety of ways to use this pumpkin...paper-piecing with fun scraps of designer paper, Zentangling (or STEN-tangling as we refer to it), pasting, crackling, double-glitter, etc. I just wanted it simple...and spooky.

The background is the Damask stencil, inked through with white pigment ink again. The pumpkin panel was matted in orange and adhered over a strip of May Arts Chevron ribbon, and some sentiment stickers finished off this card.

As a bonus chance to win the stencil of OUR choice, leave a comment with what YOU would do with our wonderful pumpkin, and a winner will be announced on next Thursday's post!
Once you've left a comment here, be sure to visit our "B" team for more inspiration using our Happy HallowThanksMas challenge this month. Then, return and link your own creations to the Inlinkz tool at the bottom of this post for a chance to win the stencil of your choice at the end of the month!

Love this card! The pumpkin is gorgeous! Love the chalk look. Perfect small touch of orange. If I had the pumpkin stencil I would love to try my hand at sten-tangling. Awesome inspiration, thanks so much!

Fabulous pumpkin! Love the ghostly effect with your inking. I had no idea just how versatile these stencils are. I love the idea of paper piecing it. Got great papers for it. xxD

Hi Pam, wow, love your card. This pumpkin looks great with just that touch of ghostly white. My first thought was how fab would that look embossed on orange metal! I happen to have some right here to give it a try LOL. Would love to have a go at STENtangling this one. I am a big pumpkin fan. Managed to grow myself a big one this year for my Thanksgiving party on Saturday. Hugz

Another lovely card, with a vintage feel, If I was lucky enough to win this stencil I would use it on a scrapbook page. With pictures of my daughters ready to go out and trick and treat many years ago. I'm thinking in the background zen tangled incorporating a scary face design!

Love the ghostly feel to your card with your pumpkin and background inked with white on the black.

What would I do with the lovely pumpkin stencil? I am into heat embossing stenciled designs lately. I would prob try that out with it first. Also, I have been having fun with shaker cards, so I might try to do a Jack O Lantern shaker with it. Not sure I could pull that one off, though. Ha!

Love the simplicity of this card.
With the open areas of the pumpkin, Metallic F/X powders on embossing paste would be showy or Molten Magic would add a more distressed look. Gold and orange and bronze would be glorious.

Oh, I thought you sanded the paper! Love the white ink idea! Great card. I love the ribbon and brad too. I would color it with chalk pastels. Or squish versamark through the stencil then emboss with gold (since I don't have gold embossing paste). Thanks for sharing.

Wonderful card! I think I would use this as a focal image on top of a collaged background.
