Bringing Forth the Frilly and Fabulous for Week Four!

Break out the frou frou again for week four! For the month of February, the Dream Team have been going Frilly and Fabulous! Vintage, retro, or modern, adding extra charm with fun Fran•tagĂ© products from Stampendous, ribbons and lace from May Arts, buttons, crystals, charms, or even creating your own dimensional decor! A snippet or a pile, whatever your creative heart desires! Remember to link your creations using the Inlinkz tool on the Dream It Up! blog for a chance to win the stencil of your choice! Bonus points for using Dreamweaver and/or Stampendous product in your work of heart.)

Pam here once again, with a card that I created while in the UK a couple of years ago. Lynell and I were playing with doing a resist technique. The Dreamweaver Dragonfly was stamped on glossy white cardstock with watermark ink, and various shades of Splendor ink were daubed over the surface. When wiped with a soft cloth, the dragonflies resisted the ink. Over the top, I paste-embossed the Daisy Background using Translucent paste which allows the Dragonflies to still be seen, and from the side, you see the texture and design of the daisies. Almost has a batik look to it. The background panel was machine-embossed with the Daisy Background, and with the stencil still in place, was ink-stenciled with the same Splendor inks as the focal panel. Over the top, the inked areas were embossed with Stampendous Clear Embossing Powder in a one-step cloisonne technique. Two paper flowers were inked as well, layered and adhered for the perfect frou frou element.

A big thanks to all of you who've linked your frilly creations on our blog this month! We try our best to comment on all of your posts, but in case we missed YOURS, please know that we really appreciate that you've shared your art with us!

Our "B" team is up this week for your inspiration:

EXCITING ANNOUNCEMENT: Truly Mixed Media!

SUPER EXCITING NEWS!!!
Yes, this was mentioned in yesterday's post, but we just feel the need to shout it out...
Dreamweaver Stencils
 has been purchased by
STAMPENDOUS!
Those of you that have followed us know that we've done some fabulous collaborations with Stampendous over the past few years. Both product lines are amazing together, so it should be no great surprise that this would be the next obvious step. All of us at Dreamweaver are thrilled to have access to all those yummy Stampendous images and accessories, and all of those, including Stampendous Owner Fran Seiford herself, at Stampendous are thrilled to play with Dreamweaver's stencils, embossing pastes, dies, etc. It's a match made in crafter's heaven!
Looking forward to continuing this blog over the next few months...Yours truly, Lynell Harlow!
*More details below post

Our monthly challenge for January is Birthday Wishes. We'd love for you to play along with us, and link your creations to the Inlinkz tool at the bottom of this post, or on the Dream It Up! blog, for a chance to win the stencil of your choice...and remember, using Dreamweaver products gets you bonus points towards an extra stencil!

Pam here with our wish for this week:
I thought this card would be appropriate as it is a great mix of both companies products, and the sentiment says it all! The background was paste-embossed in Regular Dreamweaver Paste using the Dreamweaver Splats stencil, and many of the wonderful hot colors of Stampendous Color Fragments were sprinkled on top. The background of the sentiment panel was done in the same fashion, and both were set aside to dry. The Stampendous Cling Life is Art sentiment was stamped and embossed in black on acetate (use an anti-static medium on both sides of acetate beforehand), and attached with a colorful paperclip. All panels, and a paint brush were adhered to a bright orange card base.
Those of you who may be new to Dreamweaver products may want to check out previous posts on this blog, as well as the team's links listed on the sidebar. We have always been a technique-driven company, and this will continue on as Stampendous has the same mindset. We've done many tutorials in the past which can be found on the Paper Craft Planet blog, and there will be many more to be found here, on the Stampendous! blog, YouTube, Pinterest, and Facebook!
So, follow along as we begin this new creative path! We'd love for you to join us!
Of course, more inspirations are coming your way from our "B" team:

*There will be a two month transition as the two companies come under the Stampendous name. Purchasing of Dreamweaver products will continue for now as before...through our wonderful stores, as well as the Stencil with Style site.

(Thank you Pam, for the colorful post with products from both Stampendous and Dreamweaver... Lynell here-signing off until next week, please leave a comment for my dream team and then be sure to join the challenge....)

31 Days of Halloween with Smeared and Smudged - Day Twenty-Eight

The Dream Team are dipping their fingers into all things spooky, creepy, and scary, as we play along with the Smeared and Smudged 31 Days of Halloween. The team will be taking turns to fill the quota of 31 days on the Dream It Up! blog, and posting on their own blogs as well. Be sure to leave them lots of love as this is truly a challenge for many of them! Here is today's post from Pam Hornschu:

I'm finishing up this month long Halloween celebration by going out in a box...a Cosmo Cricket Blackboard Photo Box, that is. No photos in this one, just some fun Halloween cards from this past month. Each have been designed to fit this box so that a spooky portion of the design shows through the window.

I paste-embossed in Matte Black the Dreamweaver Stone Wall over the box and lid, breaking it up a bit as I went, and smearing extra paste around the edges. When dry, I brushed on some Metallic F/X powders and white ink to highlight the stones. I also paste-embossed the Romantic Rose so that it trailed up the sides of the stone wall. When dry, I ink-stenciled color from the Tsukineko Splendor pad.

A stamped and cut out set of headstones from the Stampendous Tomb Elements was adhered with 3D foam tape.

The Smeared and Smudged site is offering prizes each day of the month by a long list of sponsors...Dreamweaver being one of them, but we are also offering one stencil (our choice) to one lucky commenter on the Dream It Up! blog each day of the month! 31 Days of Halloween with Smeared and Smudged - Day Twenty-Five

Today's card features the large Tapestry/Damask stencil machine-embossed on Core'dinations cardstock, and sanded to reveal the gray core as the base. The large focal panel is the Mirror Mirror image from Stampendous, stamped in black on white cardstock, and ink and edge distressed. The center of the mirror is the witch profile, but just to channel my inner Disney Haunted Mansion leanings, I embossed in white the Dreamweaver Cameo on Core'dinations vellum, framed in black, and popped up over the top. If you look carefully, you'll see the pretty cameo profile, with the witch silhouette underneath. Bwahahahahaha. To add to the ambiance, the Dreamweaver Bats and the Raven were cut from paper stamped in black using the Stampendous Ornate Border. More ink-distressing, and red rhinestones, a strip of May Arts Chevron ribbon, and the card had the eerie feel that I was aiming for.

Happy HallowThanksMas - Week Four

Pam here for Lynell while she's off gallivanting around the States with her our Stentangle Guru (and her hubby), Wayne. If you've been in the state of Washington this past week, you may have had the opportunity to have taken classes with both of them at "Art 'n Soul".

I'm posting a card using the Great Pumpkin stencil design, which I simply machine-embossed on black cardstock, and swiped with white pigment ink. However, as with any of the "open" design stencils that we carry, there are an amazing variety of ways to use this pumpkin...paper-piecing with fun scraps of designer paper, Zentangling (or STEN-tangling as we refer to it), pasting, crackling, double-glitter, etc. I just wanted it simple...and spooky.

The background is the Damask stencil, inked through with white pigment ink again. The pumpkin panel was matted in orange and adhered over a strip of May Arts Chevron ribbon, and some sentiment stickers finished off this card.

As a bonus chance to win the stencil of OUR choice, leave a comment with what YOU would do with our wonderful pumpkin, and a winner will be announced on next Thursday's post!
Once you've left a comment here, be sure to visit our "B" team for more inspiration using our Happy HallowThanksMas challenge this month. Then, return and link your own creations to the Inlinkz tool at the bottom of this post for a chance to win the stencil of your choice at the end of the month!

31 Days of Halloween with Smeared and Smudged-Day Seventeen

The Dream Team are dipping their fingers into all things spooky, creepy, and scary, as we play along with the Smeared and Smudged 31 Days of Halloween. The team will be taking turns to fill the quota of 31 days on the Dream It Up! blog, and posting on their own blogs as well. Be sure to leave them lots of love as this is truly a challenge for many of them! Here is today's post from Pam Hornschu:

It is great when you can use a item in your craft stash for more than just the obvious usage...case in point, this Lock and Key Stencil. Perfect for Valentines, Weddings, and Anniversaries, right? But why not the lock and key to a crypt or a dungeon or a haunted house? All it takes is a change in color scheme to blood red and raven black, with plenty of ink and tool distressing. The design itself was paste-embossed in Gold and sprinkled with Aged Gold Embossing Enamel from Stampendous. While the paste was still wet, it was heated with a heat tool until bubbling, creating the antiqued chunky metal appearance. Smears of red embossing powder over the panel, and swipes of foggy white pigment ink adds to the creepy feel. The item that cinches that is the "Enter if You Dare" sentiment from the Stampendous Tricky Words clear set.

The winners on our blog for the past week are:
Comment winner day nine: Sarah Nancarrow
Comment winner day ten: Dog's Mom
Comment winner day eleven: Susan Renshaw
Comment winner day twelve: Donna Mundinger
Comment winner day thirteen: Tangled Blue Rose (Kim)
Comment winner day fourteen: Katie B.
Comment winner day fifteen: Karen Ballentine
Comment winner day sixteen: Julia

Here's our post for today:

Another card by Pam, this time in the theme of the reason for the season. The base of the card was created from Core'dinations Chalk Core, with the yellow core, machine-embossed with the Dreamweaver Crusade and Quatrafoil stencils, and sanded to reveal the design. That new Chalk Core paper is sooo cool! She has added a strip of the Core'dinations vellum, machine-embossed with the new Peace on Earth Embossing Folder. The design has trees on it as well, but she has torn those away. Finally, the focal point is this Stampendous Manger Family image that Pam has colored with Derwent Inktense Water-color Pencils and a wet brush.

This post also fits in with our challenge for the month of October..."Happy HallowThanksMas", which provides YOU the opportunity to link your own creations using the Inlinkz tool at the bottom of this post for a chance to win the stencil of your choice at the end of the month.

Peace on Earth by Pam Hornschu
Here's a deceptively simple card by Pam. Our new embossing folders along with Core'dinations aqua and teal cardstock provide a complete look all on their own...all it takes is a bit of sanding to reveal the design of the Peace on Earth folder. Now, add a stamped and embossed in Aged Teal Embossing Enamel Elegant Border and Ribbon Bird from Stampendous, along with a heavy sprinkling of Spoonful of Snow and a May Arts ribbon, and you've taken simple to the next level.

Here's our post for today:

Fireside Mouse by Pam Hornschu
Pam has used a great mix of stencils and stamps on this creation. The darling little House Mouse of "Gifts to Tie" from Stampendous is busy wrapping gifts by the light of our Stockings by the Fire stencil design, paste-embossed in Matte Black, and colored with Splendor ink and Metallic F/X powders. A bit of paper-piecing completed the stockings. The background of this glowing panel was machine embossed on Core'dinations' Glitter Silk cardstock with the Stone Wall pattern, and sanded to reveal the design. All of these elements were adhered over a layering of red, white, and green Core'dinations cardstock...the green cardstock having been machine-embossed with the Dreamweaver Plaid/Stripes stencil, and sanded to show off the pattern. Pam added this fun and amusing sentiment from Stampendous to finish it off.
