Happy Hallowthanksmas! October's Challenge

If you are here for the Smeared and Smudged- 31 days of Halloween scroll up or down to the next post. This is our last week of the October challenge....come by next Thursday to see our challenge winner.

Nested stocking die (DG692) sten-tangled
Last weekend, Wayne and I had the pleasure of demonstrating and teaching at Art 'n Soul in the Olympia WA area. What a great store and wonderful customers! Be sure to check out their blog HERE for a wonderful Halloween treat and scroll down for some pix by Marj Marion who is one of their great stencil teachers.

One of the classes was a  class for sten-tangle and this was one of the samples on the table. Doing this fun art on our open stencils and dies is so easy.

The 'You and Me' stencil (LS1004) is paste-embossed with matte black paste and the black and white polka dot ribbon by May ARts, although not your traditional Christmas colorway, emphasizes the black Micron inks that were used in the tangling process. The tangle on the right is "fungees" and a bit more challenging, but has always been one of my faves. But the class that night tried "Dex", Betweed, Cadent, Cubine and several other great tangles for beginners and intermediate tanglers.

I also taught a class with the double glitter technique and although the card below is not the one from the class it shows that you can do this technique on double sticky paper (mounting paper MPDS) and then use the new nested stocking dies (DG692) to cut out the glittery paper. The Season's Greeting stencil (LS91) was put through the embossing machine on red colored metal and then sanded with a fine sanding block. If you are interested in the step-by-step process of the double glitter technique email me and I will send you the pdf of the instructions. lynell@dreamweaverstencils.com

The black and white twill ribbon is another beauty by May ARts Ribbon
Notice that the entire team is posting at the end of this month...showing off Happy Hallowthanksmas. Would love it if you took time to see what they have been up to and leave them some love in the way of a cheery comment or two. And you have another day to join the challenge, two winners and if you use Dreamweaver Stencils in your creation it will increase your chances of winning. Link up below:

Hi, oh I love the tangled stockings especially the one on the right. The polkadot glitter ones are fantastic as well. I'm off on my holidays this weekend so maybe tangles will be something I could do. It's challenging being away from the stash but there are new goodies waiting at mummy's house so that will be fun seeing what I have ordered and forgotten about the last year LOL. Hugz

I love how bright and happy both cards are. That stentangled card is over the moon! I so wish I could get the hang of that but mine always looks awful! The red and green combo is my fav combo for Christmas. I love lime green and it just pops with the red!

The way the art is put together as a card is what makes it all work.
