Birthday Challenge for January! Comment winner too!

It's the last few days for the January challenge and next week we are into frou frou for our next cardmaking saga! So if you'd like to help us celenbrate the birth of the new year, or a birthday card you've made for a friend and/or loved one you have until Sunday night Jan. 31st. Or alternatively you can do what stencil enthusiast Rosemarie did and email me your card and we will add your creation to this post and include you in the random drawing for a stencil of your choice to be announced next Thursday as we begin our new challenge for the month of February. My email is
Don't forget to link your creation below:

As many of you know Dreamweaver Stencils has been acquired by Stampendous and today I had the pleasure of presenting several of our techniques to their wonderful employees. Because time is short I have repeated a creation I did awhile back that is one of my favorite techniques. The birdhouse stencil (LM148) was done with the double glitter technique and very pale glitters, then the detail work was stenciled with pigment inks. The frame around the window was stenciled with pigment ink and the happy birthday stencil (LM285) was pasted in a pale blue paste mixture I had leftover from another creation. You can mix your own colors...I believe I used a couple tablespoons of pearlescent embossing paste (DPP) and mixed a small 1/4 teaspoon of the Metallic F/X Navajo Sky (F/X17) into it. Then while it was still wet I sprinkled a turquoise ultrafine glitter on top of it. When it was dry I took the tip of a craft knife and scratched just a bit of the glitter off to expose the light blue paste that was under it. If you would like the instructions for the double glitter technique that has all the details and tips email me at:

And here are three of Rosemarie's beautiful submissions for our challenge this month. Thank you Rosemarie for the wonderful birthday greetings as well. Remember if you use Dreamweaver Stencils in your creations you get bonus points and will be entered into a second random drawing as well for an opportunity to choose two stencils. By the way thank you for letting us know in the facebook chat how cold it is in Nova Scotia yesterday...brrrr! 28.4 degrees Fahrenheit! -2C!!!

Now here is Pam's sneak peek at the challenge starting next week ...this should give you a head start: (...Break out the frou frou!
