Quick and/or Cute: December's Challenge

Yep, tis the season for quick and easy cards. Would love to have you join our challenge, so that is why we are encouraging quick and simple creations this month. Winner chooses any stencil from our 720 designs! We also will have a winner that could win two of our stencils (your choice again) if you use Dreamweaver products in your creation. I noticed a couple of people who have joined up more than one creation....which is just fine with us! Link up below!

Today I am featuring a couple of sympathy cards made by former design team member Heidi Erickson. Thanks Heidi for sending these simple cards done with DG642 our leafy branch die is slightly smaller than our stencil, but the design matches the larger stencil design LG642. Combining the die cuts with embossing paste on the word stencil is very effective and of course has an elegant simplicity which is very calming to send to a friend/family member who needs a lift at a difficult time. Heidi owns a stamp/card store in Wisconsin, ...be sure to stop by and visit her blog by clicking HERE

Heidi cut out two leaves from the pale green paper then mounted patterned paper behind the cutout areas. To balance the design she added a die cut yellow-green leaf that she brushed a darker color onto using the StriƩ technique. The comfort word at the bottom is from our comfort combo stencil (LG696) which was paste-embossed using the silver embossing paste. (DSP

This second card has the In Sympathy sentiment paste embossed in copper embossing paste (DCP). The leaf die (DG642) us cut out of a tan paper and stenciled just a bit with a distress type of ink. The nesting dies (DD001) are placed behind the leaf and "in sympathy" ribbon and are cut from patterned dark brown papers and layered on top of the creamy embossed background design which was dry embossed with the "crusade" background stencil (LX7023).

It's amazing how simple and quick these cards can be put together. I know it's a busy month for all of us, if you have time join the challenge if you don't please join us for January's monthly challenge.

Now please take the time to visit the team and see what they have been up to. Would love it if you would leave these ladies some encouragement in the way of a comment or two! Say hi! to Heidi here as well...
