New Beginnings or A Fresh Start: Our January Challenge

I have lots to say today! (Imagine that.) First I would like to introduce you to Jane Gill from the UK. She is on the Woodware design team and has her own line of rubber stamps as well. Be sure to check out her blog HERE if you get the chance. (Thank you Jane, for sending me this wonderful card to share and BTW I'm looking forward to seeing you very soon at CHA! YAY!) Some of the embellishments and mounting elements of her creation are quite straightforward, but the most unique thing she did (I'm biased of course) was to paste-emboss this stylized dahlia stencil (LG743) onto acetate with matte black embossing paste (DMBP). That way her background design showed through her floating flower design. Just gorgeous!

This month we are changing things up a bit...in alignment with our Fresh Start/New Beginnings Challenge for January. This past year I believe our monthly winners have enjoyed being able to win a stencil of their own choosing in the year of 2013. Well, this month our winner will win $25 worth of Dreamweaver product of their own choosing. In January we want you to post your "new beginnings" creation either on mr. linky below or email it to me at lynell@dreamweaverstencils.com for me to post here for you. Then everyone's name will be entered for a drawing at the end of the month. What is a "new beginnings" challenge for you? Maybe it's using a new colorway that you have never tried before, perhaps a card for a wedding or new baby in the family, a card for a new friend you've made at card club, this is really a pretty easy one, BUT we would like you to just write a sentence in your post or email telling how this is a new beginning card for you. I think this will be fun AND maybe it will be a new beginning of posting every month on the Dreamweaver Blog for some of you. So whenever you choose to begin come back to this post and link your creation to mr. linky below. Every month this year we are going to change up our challenge, maybe we'll do a sketch or specific colorway challenge. Hope to give you something new to look forward to.

Another new beginning this year has to do with our design team. I talked to our fearless leader Pam Hornschu today about our call for the new design team. Yep, it's coming...so for those of you who would like to try out for the team, put your design caps on and start thinking of how you would make a difference being on the Dreamweaver Design Team.

Now, we hope you'll take a few minutes and visit the Dream Team's blogs to see what their new beginnings might be....maybe you'll see some new stencil designs:

Jane is known as the "Flower Girl" for obvious reasons! What a beautiful card, showing off the gorgeous Dahlia stencil design.

Jane's card is gorgeous... would love to see it in person 'cause I know the see through effect of the embossed acetate has to be cooool! I will definitely be trying that technique! The challenges will be fun and the monthly prize is awesome for the upcoming year... very generous! Looking forward to all the fun!

This is my first time posting for a dreamweaver challenge ... and the first time I tried gesso with a metal stencil on canvas!

Hi - I just linked my entry! I'm using one of the new stencils I won from December along with a new-to-me technique as new beginnings in stenciling! :)

The Dahlia card is beautiful. I really like this creative idea that she used.
I finally entered a card. It's late, and I am not happy with the photograph at all. I can never seem to photograph anything with glitter very well. I guess I need photography lessons...smile. Thank you and the Dream team for all the wonderful inspiration.
