31 Days of Halloween with Smeared and Smudged - Day Twenty-Nine

The Dream Team are dipping their fingers into all things spooky, creepy, and scary, as we play along with the Smeared and Smudged 31 Days of Halloween. The team will be taking turns to fill the quota of 31 days on the Dream It Up! blog, and posting on their own blogs as well. The products I used:-

Dark Blue card, White Core'dinations card, Dreamweaver Stencil LL3015, Black matte embossing paste, Stampendous stamps CRP166 and CRR131, Black Stazon ink pad.

Here is what I did:-

1  The outer frame was stamped using the Raven stamp and the aperture cut out.

2  The background behind the frame was stamped on to the co-ordinations white card using the Black Stazon.

3  The acetate window behind the frame was done with the stencil and then black matte paste applied over this and it was left to completely dry overnight.

4  The layers were distressed and the card put together.

Well its day 22 of the Smeared and Smudges Halloween event and I for this project used the Dreamweaver Stencil Tree Silhouette (LJ849), a haunted house design from Circuit, and the background is made using 2 different Stampendous stamp sets.

I started out by completing the Tree silhouette panel, I embossed some grey co-ordination card stock using my Big Shot machine, which I sanded back and then dragged a silver and then a gold ink pad over the top.

The background was created by simply repeating 2 stamped images covering the entire piece, the edges were distressed with a distress ink pad.

The final piece the haunted house was from Autumn Celebrations Cricut Cartridge and was cut at 5''.

The card was then put together, and I think it picks up the essence of Halloween.

I used Dreamweaver Tree Line Die DG745, Dreamweaver Spider Stencil LS28, Stampendous Stamps: CRM315, CRH309 and SSC1174,  Core'dinations card in various colors.

The techniques I used were dry embossing for the spider then sanded back, simple stamping for the images. I coloured the Mr Skeleton in a soft lead pencil and the color with Souffle pen and Copic marker. The die was cut from black card, the edges of some panels were distressed.  I thought it was quite 'Halloweeny'.
